The journey of life can take us many ways. From infancy to old age we face moments when our path is clear, but we also face moments when we question our journey. In these moments, it is important to have the tools that help us deal with the challenges before us or envision new possibilities.

As a developmental psychologist I can help you find the resources and strength to cope with these challenges. With a cognitive behavioral therapy approach, based on goal setting, I offer emotional and educational support to children, teenagers, parents and individuals to improve emotional wellbeing and promote good psychological resilience.

In the course of our lives we go through different experiences.

Some can be challenging – the different stages of development, learning difficulties, moving to a new place, a divorce, professional or personal issues. These experiences affect us individually, our children and the family and may cause stress, anxiety and depressed mood.

With a cognitive therapy approach, based on goal setting and short-term intervention I can help you develop coping skills and find tools you can use throughout your life, thus promoting development and personal growth.

I provide emotional support to children, adolescents and families, as well as educational support, consultancy to teachers and developmental assessments.

About me

About me

Inês Vasconcelos Horta
Dr. psych, Psychologist FSP

Promoting personal development and helping bring positive change into people’s lives is my passion.

With 20 years of experience as Developmental Psychologist, I worked in the public sector and in private practice, where I had the opportunity to share enriching and inspiring experiences of growth and development with children, teenagers and adults.

I specialized in designing and implementing customized, goal-oriented programs aimed to build new competences, or strengthen existing ones in a short to mid period of time, both in corporate and educational contexts.

In parallel, I was a Professor at the College of Education (ISEC Lisboa).

In 2012, I moved to Switzerland and began a new chapter in life. My three wonderful daughters teach me every day how to be better. Although being born and raised in Lisbon, one of the world’s most beautiful and vibrant cities, Zug is now our home.
